Haven’t had a claim in over ten years
Haven’t gotten a ticket in probably 5 years.

But, the neighbor kid did $2K worth of damage to my car with his bike in three separate incidents. Basically, half of it will have to be repainted!

I’d really, really rather not go to court. His insurance is NOT an option in this case. He doesn’t have $2,000 laying around.

IF I go the much easier route of getting him to pay at least my deductible, how likely is State Farm to raise my rates with a, after deductible, claim of about $1500 or so?

Any relevant advice/comment is appreciated.
Killing the kid DID cross my mind for just the briefest of moments, but then I realized that might be overreacting just a tad! lol
Forgot to mention that I did file a police report AND the stepdad admitted his kid ( 4 years old!) most likely did it.

Again, just wondering if my rates will go up if I go the easy way and file a claim?
Insurance doesn’t apply due to it being on rental property.

Im going out of the country next week, I will not be coming back until the first few days of january. My boyfriend is currently staying at my house and he has no means of transportation. (He is 20 years old, and his car completely broke down–our location is Dallas TX.)

I was wondering if it was possible to “add” him under my father’s car insurance plan, with him being a non-family member.

ANY information is helpful and greately appreciated.

Please, no dumb comments as this is of great importance to us.

It should be against the law since everyone must carry car insurance. Also, what does my low credit score got to with my great driving record? Sounds like another reason to raise rates because most credit scores are low across the board. If someone pays their insurance company on time and has a good driving record should be their only concerns. Doesn’t that make sense to raise car insurance rates to persons that had a hard time paying a bill, bit made all their car insurance payments on time.

I’m getting my driver’s license in the next month or two and need to know how much car insurance will cost. I’m 22 years old and this will be my first time license. Does it depend whether the car is new or used?

The insurance company paid me for the damages to my car and then I sued the person that did the damage. Is the insurance comany entitled to the money I was awarded in court, even though they did not participate in the court proceedings? In fact, I gave the insurance company information on the case and they did nothing to reclaim the money on their own.

My older brother recently bought a brand new car, and just two days ago the insurance he purchased from the dealership’s insurance company expired. He has liability insurance underneath a separate insurance company, but that has not expired. We were stopped for something minor the other day, and the police officer noticed my brother’s insurance was expired. What kind of fine will he face?

I’ve never had car insurance and I’m about to purchase a car. I’ve been researching different companies and they are all pricey. Should I wait until I’m 25 to get my own insurance since it will be cheaper or is the price based off other factors? I’m currently 24 years old and never had insurance under my name.
